Depends on where you will be staying in USA, generally you may not get some of the Indian kind of kitchen stuff, specially you like to cook and eat Indian food. For new comer here is the list of things you may want to consider to bring.
- Chakla & Belan (to make chapati's).
- Tava (to cook chapati's).
- Pakkad/ Sansi (to hold hot utensils) and Chimta (to hold chapati on heat).
- Cooker.
- Kadhayi (to fry). You will get some different shape, but not our kadhayi shape over here.
- Tea seave (Channi). You won't find such fine holes seave here.
- Serving spoon for dal.
- Idli mold.
- Indian Mathani (to beat/blend dal, curd etc. properly).
- Some common balms viz. Move, Iodex, Zandu Balm, Amritanjan, Vicks etc.
- Needle and Thread for emergencies. Plus few Hook buttons, press buttons, shirt buttons.
- Nada (string for pajamas).
- Here firstly you won't get good quality 100% cotton everywhere, else it will be very expensive. So, get your clothes accordingly.
- Extra set of your undergarments.
- Extra pairs of formal shoes for office wear. (What you find here are little different in style).
- Music lovers should get the choice of there cassettes and CD's.
Though you may find the above listed things in few Indian shops depending on the place you live, but they will be very expensive. |
