Visa appointment system error : Some applicant may have to reschedule their visa appointment
According to recent news posted on Chennai US consulate, applicants who have their appointment dates between December 30, 2005 And January 31, 2006 will be asked to re-schedule their appointment. Due to some error appointment has over-scheduled for nonimmigrant visa for these dates.
VFS will inform applicants of their new appointment date via e-mail or telephone.
Applicants who come on the originally scheduled date will not, repeat, not be processed.
Consulate has moved all appointments made for December 30, 2005 to January 7, 2006.
No changes to any student visa appointments except for those scheduled on December 30th.
We got the cofirmation from VFS that this is applicable only for Chennai Consulate , and only for appointment booked through VFS. Any appointment booked through TTS visa service remain unchanged.
Consulate advised to:
- To not come to the Consulate on the date originally scheduled, since they will not have
Application details and hence consulate will not be able to process your application.
- If the new date is not convenient, please reschedule an appointment in March or April or later in the year. You may only reschedule via the VFS website after your original appointment has passed.
- Please do not request an emergency appointment during January and February 2006.
If any surplus capacity does become available, it will be added to the VFS website.
