The USCIS has released update on numbers for H1B Cap usage for fiscal year FY 2006 on August 4, 2005. As per these statistics 51,939 H1B cases have been filed so far.
For FY06 Cap means the H1B quota where start date on October 1, 2005, through September 30, 2006.
Out of the total quote of 65000 , 6,800 H1B numbers are reserved for nationals of Singapore and .Therefore, the H1B annual cap limit is 58,200. This indicates that as of August 4, only 6,261 cap-subject H1Bs are available for FY 2006.
There is an additional 20,000 H1B quote for foreign nationals with US master degree for each year. The numbers still available for both FY05 (end date Sept. 30 , 2005) and also for FY06( end date Sept 30, 2006)
