Coffee.... hhmmmm .....coffee, this is something which is not only close to my heart, but also of hundreds and thousands of coffee fanatics all over the Planet Earth.
Coffee by no means is a mere hot drink which can be compared with any other peer drink. Coffee has a class of its own and it stands where no other drink can ever reach, or even think of. People worldwide drink lot of different things either to have their system rinsed with some liquid, or just to kick-start their everyday routine. People have different purpose and drinking habits and not to forget, everyone's own taste and likings, given the tons of flavors doing the rounds both for aerated drinks and coffee.
Some people do not even really have a conscious choice in terms of what they want to have for drink, either at the head-end of the day, or along with snacks or food. For them any drink as fine, whether it be water, lime, coke, tea, coffee or any fruit juice. For these folks it is just an additive or a catalyst to mix along-with, which helps them consume their food and kind-a help in the digestive process as well. But for some, drinking coffee is not only a requirement which they have-to along with whatever they eat or drink, whenever they have to, but its the sheer amount of joy and satisfaction that every sip of coffee brings along with, which heartens out everything else. Whether it be a bad day going-on, or some tension, or some issues which keeps cropping, or if its just not your day... don't worry lighten up, have a strong hot coffee and that should keep you going and rocking.
People in different parts of the world like their coffee in different ways. Some like it the standard way, which is your black coffee (no milk, no sugar), but that's really for coffee veterans who know their coffee and who have developed a distinct taste for it over the years. This can be found heavily in the American and European geographies where they really relish their coffee. Some others like the convoluted version of the same, which is by adding milk and sugar in whatever proportion their taster buds would liken. Then there is the typical filter coffee which is pretty famed in the southern parts of the Indian Sub-continent. Also, there are other variation of coffee which are called by god-knows what all names, by adding whatever they want to from chocolate to caramel, from ice-cream to vanilla, which is total disgrace to the distinct coffee world, from a purist stand-point. After all there are unsaid norms about how best to do your coffee and how best to enjoy it as well. This is a similar comparison of how purist would die by Test Cricket which is not only the standard version of the game, but which also bring in the game's real passion and meaning compared to the more populist one-dayer's which even though has come to fame, but it may never match the class of Test Cricket.
The above comparison actually brings out the real essence of orthodox, traditional, old-style coffee drinkers to the modern day convoluted coffee sippers which gen-next seems to relish on. What really irks, is when a typical hot-drink like coffee is made to look like a shabby cold-drink, by adding ice, ice-cream & whatever to it and being tagged cold-coffee. How on earth can you relate cold & coffee, that's a real insult to a drink like coffee and I pity the people who only drink the colder version of it and limit their understanding and impression of coffee ,which is much more than that.
Anyways, whatever ways you look at it, whatever ways one wants to drink it, coffee still brings for everyone without bias the unflinching taste of caffeine, the heavenly aroma and warmth, the spirit of life, the booster of energy, gives that extra punch needed and leaves behind for every drinker a longing taste and fighting spirit to go-on which very much lasts till your next coffee-break.
